Bauchi fatal crash claims four lives, seven others injured

The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corp in Bauchi State, Yusuf Abdullahi, has confirmed that four people have been killed in a multiple fatal crash that occurred on Thursday at Tashan Mai-Alewa along Bauchi-Kano road in Ganjuwa local government area of Bauchi state.

He said that seven others sustained varying degrees of injuries in the accident involving 11 male adults who were in a private and a commercial vehicle.

According to him, the private vehicle, a Pontiac Vibe, silver in colour, which had a registration number: BUU457SY, was driven by one Dr. Yahaya Usman.

He gave the name of the driver of the commercial vehicle, Ford Galaxy, silver in colour with registration number: MSA59XB, simply as Muhammadu.

Abdullahi said: “When our team got to the scene, the rushed the victims to the Ningi General Hospital for treatment and confirmation.

“It was there that a medical doctor confirmed four people dead while seven others sustained various degrees of injuries and are being treated.

“The crash was a multiple crash involving a commercial and a private vehicle which has a total of 11 male adults.

“The commercial vehicle, Ford Galaxy, silver in colour with registration number: MSA59XB, simply as Muhammadu. While the private vehicle, a Pontiac Vibe, silver in colour, which had a registration number: BUU457SY, was driven by one Dr. Yahaya Usman.

“The crash was caused by speed violation which led a loss of control.”

The FRSC Boss called on drivers to be careful while driving and warned them to always obey road traffic regulations “because most of the crashes are caused by the failure of motorists to observe these traffic regulations.”
