Bauchi State Governor, Bala Muhammad has sworn-in 6 new high court judges and 5 Shari’a Court khadis to strengthen the judiciary in the state.
The ceremony, held at the Government House in Bauchi, marked a significant milestone in the administration of justice in the state.
Governor Mohammed charged the new judges to be impartial and fair in their dispensation of justice.
He also stressed the necessity of upholding justice and human rights and told them to work to decongesting the correctional facilities in the state, which are currently overloaded with inmates.
The addition of new judges is part of reforming Bauchi judiciary and ensuring the state’s justice system is effective and efficient. This is to boost the confidence of Bauchi people in the judiciary and fast tract justice.
The Bauchi State Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar, in her remark, hailed the governor for the confidence reposed in the new judges. She assured that the judiciary will remain upright in its functions and observe human rights.
In a vote of thanks, Justice Aliyu bin Umar, on behalf of the new judges, thanked the governor for given them the chance to serve the state and promised to discharge their duties with integrity and dedication.
