Borno PDP candidate denies stepping down for Zulum

People's Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Borno State, Alhaji Mohammed Ali Jajari

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Borno State, Alhaji Mohammed Ali Jajari has denied the rumour making the round in the state, that he has step down for the All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Babagana Zulum.

Alhaji Jajari, who disclosed this while addressing journalists at a press conference in Maiduguri on Monday, described the report as false and baseless.

He noted that the presidential and National Assembly elections were marred with irregularities, BVAS malfunctioning, technical hitches, vote buying and manipulation amongst others.

He said: ”Even in the last presidential election, the PDP won the election but they manipulated and rigged that election at various Polling Units. Our leaders at the national and state levels including the presidential candidate are now pursuing the matter to ensure your choice and mandate is not stolen or bastardized.

“The people of Borno state are already with the PDP as evidenced during the last Presidential Election”.

”As for what I have for the people of Borno State, the citizens have seen it already that we mean change and changes have started manifesting vividly from what is actually happening in the state. PDP is everywhere and we have gone round and mobilize people and show them out manifesto.

”So, i want them to come out en mass during the Gubernatorial election to massively vote for PDP. Elect new leaders that well serve you at the state and national level.

“This time, around we will ensure that proper measures are taken to protect your mandates and ensure that the desire change in leadership of the state that you desire is achieved.
