The two members are Hon. Mohammed Alkali Imam, the PDP 2019 Gubernatorial Candidate, Borno state and Alhaji Zanna Gaddama Mustapha, the former PDP State Chairman.

The State PDP Secretary, Alhaji Yusuf Mohammed Dikko disclosed this at a press conference held at the PDP State Secretariat in Maiduguri on Wednesday.

Alhaji Dikko said the Borno State Executive Committee of the PDP and elders of the party have accepted and approved the submission of Shehuri North Ward Party Executives and Magumeri Ward Party Executives after careful investigation and due process to grant the accused members privilege to appear before a constituted committee to clear themselves but they refused to comply. Hence, the two members were served with suspension letters with effect from Wednesday , 22nd September 2021.

He added “that while the PDP in the state was in high gear preparing for the scheduled Ward Party Congress schedule for Saturday, 25th September, 202, the accused members were alleged to have gone to the party headquarters in Abuja to purchase all the ward congress party nomination forms for the 27 LGAs including 3 Delegates worth about N50 Million and refused to made them available to the state party exco for purchase by interested and qualified members”.

The party secretary, further, explained that the reciept made available to them from the PDP Headquarters showed that the forms were all purchased and same persons refused to give eligible members to fill, thereby hijacking the ward congress nomination forms as a faction to frustrate the congress election.

According to him, the leadership of the party was in the court for the last three and half years of which the judgement was delivered on 12/03/2021 by the Supreme Court where it affirmed Hon. Usman Mahdi Badeiri as the authentic PDP Borno State Party Chairman.

“But since our inauguration, we have recieved series of complaints from wards and local government areas in the anti party activities of these members whose on their own interest are trying to destroy the party just as they did in 2017 and 2019 during the general elections.

“Going by what is happening now and their refusal to answer queries given to them by the State Disciplinary Committee, the State Working Committee sat with state stakeholders of our party and finally resolved to uphold the suspension of the below members from PDP Borno State Chapter. Hon. Mohammed Alkali Imam and Hon. Zanna Gad.dama Mustapha”.

“For their refusal to obey the judgement of the Supreme Court and hijacking the Congress nomination forms meant to be handle by the State Party Chairman , Hon Usman Madhi Badeiri. The ward party leaderships of Shehuri North and Magumeri Wards, finally decided to passed a vote of no confidence on them and subsequently suspended them for alleged anti party activities and sabotage leading to the running of a faction or parallel leadership and membership of the PDP in the state despite the Supreme Court judgement and their refusal to present themselves to the Duacipmanary Committee.

Speaking to journalists immediately after the press conference at the party Secretariat, the Magumeri Ward PDP Chairman, Hon. Modu Fumi and Hon. Bukar Bukar , the Shehuri North PDP Secretary confirmed the suspension of the duo respectively, stressing that, it was the unanimous decision of the ward party executives to suspension them in accordance with the constitution of the party.
