
The bride and the groom

Late President of Nigeria, Umaru Musa Yar’adua’s son, Shehu Yar’adua has tied the knot with Yasir Mammanoor Sheriff in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
The wedding (Fatiha) took place at the Senator Ali Modu Sheriff’s family house located along Giwa Barracks.
Top dignitaries in attendance included President Muhammadu Buhari, who was represented by the Minister of Aviation, Mr. Hadi Sirika, Governor Babagana Zulum, and his counterparts – the Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu and that of Jigawa Abubakar Badaru.

Others in attendance included the former Bauchi State Governor, Alhaji Adamu Ma’azu, former Governor of Gombe, Senator Danjuma Goje, former Governor of Katsina, Alhaji Ibrahim Shemma, who are all friends and associates of Senator Sheriff, who is also the bride’s uncle.

Also, the former Governor of kebbi, Senator Adamu Alairo, former Governor of Bauchi, Alhaji Isa Yuguda, Former SGF Alhaji Yayale Ahmed, former Governor of Zamfara, Senator Ahmed Yarima Bakura and NNPC Group Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Alhaji Mele Kyari Kolo among others.
The Emir of Daura, Umar Farauk Umar was also in attendance and stood as the groom’s father who also accepted the wedding vows on behalf of the groom while His Eminence, the Shehu of Borno Alh Dr. Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin El kanemi stood in for the bride.

The wedding vows were received and accepted by both representatives of the bride and the groom with the bride price of 24 gold coins.
Others represented were; the former Governor of Kano State who is also the NNPP presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, representative of the Oba of Benin and representative of the Emir of Gwandu.
