National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Sen. David Mark, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure Saturday’s by-elections nationwide are conducted with fairness, transparency, and credibility.
In a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Paul Mumeh, as a goodwill message to ADC candidates vying for Senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Assembly seats, Mark emphasized the need for INEC to rebuild public confidence in Nigeria’s electoral process.
The ADC will contest in by-elections across Anambra, Edo, Oyo, Taraba, Adamawa, Kaduna, Zamfara, Kano, Niger, and Ogun states.
Mark described the ADC as a party born from the need to provide Nigerians with a viable alternative for improved governance.
He encouraged voters to give the ADC an opportunity to demonstrate its potential.
Highlighting INEC’s responsibility, Mark noted that the commission is under scrutiny to rectify past shortcomings that have damaged its reputation.
He stated that conducting genuinely free and fair elections could help restore INEC’s credibility.
Mark praised the ADC candidates for their commitment and bravery, advising them and their supporters to adhere to electoral regulations while staying alert to any attempts at manipulation or coercion.
He also appealed to security agencies to ensure an equitable environment for all candidates, allowing the electorate’s true will to prevail without disruption.
