Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has been commended for his laudable efforts, commitment and resilience in building and resettling 424 internally displaced households in Konduga Local Government Areas of the State .
The Borno State Commissioner of Justice and State Attorney General (SAG), Barrister Hauwa Abubakar, who made the commendation on Monday in Maiduguri during an interaction session with journalists said ,” the commissioning of 500 housing units in Konduga town of Konduga LGA of the State which were constructed by the governor and finally commissioned .”
“He also distributed the houses to the IDP families which is another major breakthrough by the governor on his commitment to ensure all IDPs camps are closed and displaced persons returned to their ancestral homes in a dignified manner at their will and in accordance with the international law and standard,” Barr. Hauwa said.
The SAG also said that,” I would like to take this opportunity to commend His Excellency, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, for the commissioning of 500 resettlement houses for the residents of Konduga Local Government Area.
“This initiative is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the Governor’s unwavering commitment towards addressing the pressing housing needs of our internally displaced families in rebuilding our communities affected by insurgency.
According to her,” What truly stands out about this project is its comprehensive nature. The integration of schools, healthcare centers, creational facilities and solar energy water supply boreholes and basic infrastructural facilities.”
“The governor impressively alongside the resettlement efforts, also provided other welfare packages like food items, financial support and essential household supplies, demonstrating that the Governor is not only providing shelter; to the people but he is also laying the groundwork for individuals and families to rebuild their lives with dignity and live a better life
“The Governor’s directive to complete an additional 500 houses in Dalwa Village within six months, along with plans for another 500 houses to be built in Aulari Village underscores his proactive approach and determination to ensure that more displaced families are resettled in safe and dignified conditions.
“This initiative and many others, reflect the Governor’s broader vision of sustainable development and social welfare for the people of Borno State.
“We are profoundly grateful for his relentless efforts and pray Almighty God to continue to grant him the wisdom to lead us (State State) towards a better, prosperous and brighter future,” Barr. Hauwa said.
