The Esu Karu, Pharmacist Luka Panya Baba has called on the people of Karu Local Government Area to come out en-mass to welcome staff of the National Population Commission expected to arrive the in the LGA on Monday, 26th July, 2021 for the area enumeration demarcation exercise
He made the called when the Sarkin Hausawa of Mararaba, Alhaji Adamu Usman Mani paid him a courtesy call in office today.
The first class paramount ruler, who said Karu LGA is one of the biggest in the country, noted the local government area was not properly captured in the last population census exercise and as a result, it was given a wrong figure of less than two million population figure.
He advised his subjects to turn out in their numbers on Monday to receive the visitors and actively participate in the demarcation exercise to enable the people carry out a successful exercise that would give KaruLGA the true census figures.
Pharmacist Panya, expressed satisfaction with the peaceful atmosphere currently witnessed in the local government, following the emergence of Alhaji Mani as the Sarkin Hausawa Mararaba. He pointed out that the ever busy Mararaba-Nyanya- Ado axis which is the gate way into Abuja, the nation’s capital city usually full of criminal elements has since been relatively calm.
According to him, criminality can not be completely be wiped from the society but when it is reduce to the barest minimum, it becomes a thing of joy. He, however, commended members of the Hausawa community for supporting their son to succeed in office.
He also promised to work in unity with the Chief of the Hausas to ensure that all people carrying out businesses in the ever busy area do so under a crime free atmosphere.
Others who spoke at the occasion including the Tafidan Hausawa, Alhaji Abdulahi Muhammed and the Majin Daadi Alhaji Idris both extolled the leadership qualities of the Sarkin Hausawa Mararaba Alhaji Adamu Usman Mani for carrying everyone along and thanked the Esu Karu, who created a conducive environment for the emergence of Mani as the new Sarkin Hausawa.
Earlier in his speech, the Sarkin Hausawa Mararaba, Alhaji Adamu Usman Mani, who was overwhelmed with the encomiums showered on him, told the Esu Karu that they were in his palace to pay him a sallah homage having celebrated Eidel-el-Kabir successfully.
Alhaji Mani pledged his loyalty to the Karu chiefdom, which he said is his immediate area of operation and sued for support to enable him succeed.
Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of Rams, kola nut and other items to the Esu Karu as a sign of love and unity. Also, special Muslim and Christian prayers were offered for the Governor of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Abdulahi Sule and the Emir of Lafia Alhaji Sidi Bako for peace to continue to reign in their life time.
