Captain Agaba, former Executive Director, NIMASA
Captain Ezekiel Bala Agaba, a former executive director at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for laundering N1.5 billion while in office.
Multiple sources said Agaba was handed the jail term by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Wednesday.
While in charge of Maritime, Safety and Shipping, Agaba was said to had looted the money from the agency.
Recall that the former Executive Director and nine others were in 2015 arraigned before the court.
