The immediate past State Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in Cross River State, Pastor Bassey Ita has declared his intention to run for the position of Zonal Publicity Secretary of the party in the South South geopolitical zone.
Bassey Ita, who had served as Publicity Secretary in Cross River during the period of the substantive and outgone Caretaker Executives, has notified some critical stakeholders in the state of his ambition to step up to the sub-national level in the same position.
His formal declaration which was made available to journalists, indicated that he is vying for the position to help sustain the party’s goodwill within the south south region through passionate, professional, efficient and effective media presence.
Pastor Ita, who is a seasoned journalist and Public Affairs Analyst, said his tenure will leverage on the goodwill that the APC government has entrenched in Cross River to convince other south south states on the need to make APC their preferred choice.
“Most times people want to have evidential indicators that you are a force to reckon with before they pitch tent with you, so what I have as a niche in this regard is the achievements of the APC Government in Cross River State under the Leadership of Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade,who is also the party’s Leader in the geopolitical zone”.
Pastor Ita also said he will do the job of projecting the party in good light in the most passionate, professional manner by bringing his over 23 years experience in the media industry to bear.
It would be recalled that Pastor Bassey Ita had cut his teeth in journalism working with prominent Media outfits in the country some of which include the moribund Sunray Newspapers, National Network Newspapers, Daily Trust Newspapers. He had also edited some tabloids both at the local and national scenes.
Ita has been the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, in the office of the National Vice Chairman, South South at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja before his emergence as State Publicity Secretary of the party in Cross River during the 2018 congresses.
