The Fr  Alia  Diaspora Support Group (FADSG), has expressed delight over the victory of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March 18, 2023 Benue State governorship election, Fr Hyacinth Alia and his deputy, Dr Sam Ode.

In a congratulatory message it sent to the governor-elect and made available to NATIONAL ACCORD on Wednesday, the group noted that Fr Alia’s landslide victory was a clear indication of his state-wide acceptability based on the people’s trust  in his vision and commitment to serve Benue State. 

“Your victory is for good  as we trust you will work synergistically together to uphold the mandate with professionalism, accountability and transparency for all people of Benue State, irrespective of political and religious affiliations,” the group said.

The rest of the congratulatory message by FADSG reads:

“Your emergence is a pointer to our politics tilting towards meritocracy as against “god-fatherism” and you’ll set the pace for good governance.

“We are rest assured of your commitment to security, the protection of lives and property, economic upliftment, and the general well-being of Benue state.

“As you prepare to assume office, we assure you of our support. We are prepared to assist you in the vision to re-write the economic history of Benue State for good.

“We believe that Benue State is strategic to the broader vision of Nigeria as Africa’s economic hub and this will be realized with you as the sixth elected governor of Benue State. 

“Congratulations! Your excellency. May the Almighty God bless, protect and guide you and your Deputy on this salient responsibility.”
