In a commendable demonstration of commitment to community development, the Inyere Undergraduates’ Association (INUA) on Monday, 23 March 2026, embarked on a sensitisation programme across primary and secondary schools in Inyere Community in Ezza North LGA of Ebonyi State.
The initiative, led by Comr. Nwafor Shedrack Chinagorom, the President of the Association, aims to inspire young learners towards educational excellence, social responsibility and sound character development.
The programme featured visits to three schools, where students received guidance, encouragement and material support.
At Community Secondary School, Inyere, the school management, led by Mrs. Nweke Virginia Ijeoma, warmly received the INUA delegation and commended the association’s efforts in shaping the future of the students. The team urged students to take their studies seriously, make responsible use of social media, and apply discipline in their daily lives.
A similar reception greeted the team at SS Cosmas and Damian Nursery, Primary and Secondary School, Imoha. Teachers and the parish priest expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting its timeliness and relevance. Students were encouraged to strive for academic excellence and position themselves as agents of positive change in society.
At Ezekoma Primary School, the final stop, the atmosphere was filled with excitement as the team engaged with pupils and staff. Teachers, including Mr. Igwe Ezekiel, Mr. Donatus Ovu and Mr. Titus Ogodo, expressed gratitude for the outreach and offered prayers for the continued success of the students.
The programme also featured the distribution of educational materials and financial support to students.
Donations from prominent sons and daughters of Inyere Community—including Miss Utobo Ruth Chinaza, Chief Emmanuel Emeka Nwoba, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Rose Nwankwo, Prince Friday Ode and Comrade Oyota Emmanuel—made it possible to provide over 300 customised exercise books, writing materials and assistance with fees.
Speaking on the importance of education, Chairman of the Inyere Academic Committee, Comrade Uka Nwafor, described education as “the best investment that lasts a lifetime and empowers individuals to contribute meaningfully to society.”
He further noted that education remains “an intentional process of learning and re-learning.”
The INUA initiative has been widely praised as a timely intervention capable of inspiring lasting change within the community.
Stakeholders, as well as individuals with the community’s progress at heart, have been urged to support similar programmes to ensure sustained educational development in Inyere and beyond.
