Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), have arrested 18 suspected internet fraudsters in Ogun State.
The commission in a post via its X handle, said the suspects were arrested in Prime Garden Hotel, situated in Atun-iju, Idi-iroko Road following actionable intelligence that exposed their fraudulent Internet activities.
“The kingpin among them is alleged to have defrauded his victim of a whooping sum of N200 million”, it said.
Items recovered from the suspects include: a red-colouredLexus IS 250 vehicle, a box of jewelry, foreign and local currencies, a driver’s licence of a female citizen of the United State of America with the name Eva Lovia and an identification card of male USA military officer, Julian Miguel Arroyo among others.Recovered from others are a vehicle, laptop computers and incriminating documents.
The EFCC said the suspect will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
