Gov Aminu-Tambuwal of Sokoto state
BY ANKELI EMMANUEL, Sokoto –
Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal in his Salah broadcast to the people of Sokoto and Nigerians has decried how insecurity is posing as a disturbing threat to agriculture as well as the nation’s socio-economic activities.
Tambuwal who stressed that, acts of banditry and kidnapping have not only led to the dead of many but also sacked many more from their ancestral homes and communities, however, appealed to all and sundry to continue to support security agencies with information and prayers.
“Acts of banditry and kidnapping by recalcitrant and godless elements have killed, sacked and pillaged our communities and disrupted our socio-economic stability. Hostage takers have inhibited our highways, threatening agricultural activities and the flow of our business and economy”
The governor while divulging that his government is not relenting in the continued efforts towards tackling pockets of insecurity in the state, assured that, they would sustain their support for the security agencies working in Sokoto.
Tambuwal, however, urged Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of brotherhood and all the virtues that are symbolized by this holy season.
“It is a time to cleanse our hearts and the intentions of our acts, for the sole purpose of securing the reward from the Almighty and the benefit of society. I wish to appreciate the cooperation of the traditional institution and supplications of the Ulama, under the guidance of His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto.
“The value and efficacy of prayers cannot be overemphasized, especially in this period of an important act of worship”.
