Immediate past Minister of State for Budget and National Planning and prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, has felicitated Muslim faithful in the State on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud (birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad).

In a message to mark the occasion, Agba urged all Muslim faithful countrywide, and particularly those in Edo State, to pray for peace and unity of the State, especially now that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has signalled the commencement of the process of leadership change in the state.

He said that although the governorship election had been fixed for September 21, 2024, “all of us that constitute the sum of Edo State should intensify prayers for peace and harmony in our state, which I believe are necessary ingredients of development.”

Agba urged the Muslim faithful to not only imbibe the virtues of love, forgiveness, peaceful co-existence and selflessness which the life of the Prophet exemplified, but also to demonstrate them in their daily interactions with one another.

He also called on Muslim faithful countrywide to take the opportunity of the celebrations to pray for Nigeria and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for good health and wisdom to take audacious steps towards solving the problems confronting the nation.

According to him: “President Tinubu needs the support and encouragement of all and sundry to succeed in the task of bolstering our national economy and ensuring rapid development of the country.”

He also extended his good wishes to all Muslim faithful worldwide on the occasion, praying that “the Almighty God would perfect the health of all of us.”
