Ekiti LG chairman commends Gov. Oyebanji over Ikole–Ara-Insinbode road construction

The Executive Chairman of Ikole Local Government of Ekiti State, Hon. Sola Olominu has commended the State Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji over the ongoing construction of the 18km Ikole-Ara-Isinbode road.

 

Speaking after on the spot assessment of the road construction, Hon Olominu said that the project was in line with Governor Oyebanji’s approval earlier in the year for the opening of the road as part of his commitment to spread dividends of democracy to all the nooks and crannies of the State.

 

He said that the long awaited aspirations of the people of the area over the construction of the Road linking Ikole-Ara to Isinbode Ekiti would soon be a reality as the Governor was very interesting in linking all the towns and villages in the state for even development as promised during his electioneering camping.

 

” We are grateful to our dear Governor, he is a man of his words, he approved the opening of this road lnking Ikole-Ara to Isinbode Ekiti early this year, the work is going on well, our people are very grateful.

 

” It’s good to know that this ongoing project signpost Ekiti North while that of ongoing Omisanjana -Ajebandele road construction represents that of Ekiti Central and another ongoing road project at Ekiti South. This makes it a tripod ongoing road constructions across the 3 Senatorial Districts of Ekiti”.

 

Hon Olominu commended the contractor handling the project for working on a fast speed during his interaction with one of the Engineers on site expressed confidence that the project would be completed on time.

 

The road which was first constructed by the Administration of the former Military Governor of the then Western Region of the late General Adeyinka Adebayo stopped at Ara Ekiti and the short lived administration of Chief Segun Oni awarded its construction to Isunbode Ekiti end and had since been abandoned over the years by successful administrations, thus, making It impassable over the years.
