
Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru

Former Coordinator of Imoha Development Centre, Ezza North LGA, Ebonyi State, Hon Mrs Rose Nwankwo, has urged the youth in the state to emulate the leadership style of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru. She praised the governor’s determination to restoring peace and harmony in the state since his assumption of office in 2023.
Nwankwo described Governor Nwifuru as a leader of ingenuity, who has demonstrated his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises, saying he has really done justice to his campaign promises.
She made the statement while addressing the newly elected leadership executives of Inyere Youth General Assembly in Ezza North LGA of the state during their inauguration ceremony on Sunday, 29th June 2025.
The event which the community combined with its mid-year general meeting saw to the mass return of the abroad-based sons of the Inyere Autonomous Community to reflect on the way forward and deliberate on essential issues for future direction of the community.
The former Coordinator further maintained that the Governor has achieved so much in a very short while, especially the peace he has brought back in all the nooks and crannies of the state.
Expressing joy in the peaceful conduct of the youth election in Inyere Ward by the ward’s electoral body, she gave the youth executives words of encouragement and promised to support their leadership to ensure a transformation in the community.
Mrs Nwankwo equally affirmed that the exercise which bred the emergence of the youth leadership executives was unprecedented in the history of Inyere Community, and urged them to model themselves on the leadership quality of the state governor to ensure effective administrative impacts in their tenure of office.
Other stakeholders of the community present at the occasion include: Chief Linus Nwankwo, Former Accountant-General of Ebonyi State, Mr Patrick Edeh, President-General of Inyere Development Union (IDU), Hon Kingsley Nwokpor, Councillor of Inyere Ward. They all urged the inaugurated youth executives to distinguish themselves by carrying out their duties diligently and in accordance with the laid-down rules of the community.
In the same vein, the inaugurated youth executive council which included, Comrade Oyota Emmanuel—President, Nwafor David—Vice President, Eze George Izuchukwu—General Secretary, Nwankwo Philip Ejike—Treasurer, Hon Okeh Chika Simon—Fin Secretary, Elom Azubuike Solomon—Publicity Secretary, Nwafor Stephen Emeka—Chief Security Officer, Ucha Ogbonna F—Director of Welfare, Nwafor Shedrack C—Chief Auditor, Nweke Chibuike C—Organising Secretary, Idoko Chukwuebuka C—Assistant Secretary, Nworie Emmanuel F—Assistant Pub Secretary, Nwube Joshua K—Provost1, Nwigwe Sunday Emmanuel—Provost2, and Utobo Kenneth U—Provost3, all expressed their delight for the mandate to work for the progress of the community.
In his speech during the inauguration, the Youth President, Comrade Emmanuel Oyota, expressed his joy for the opportunity given to him to contest which necessitated his emergence. He promised never to take the mandate for granted and to run a leadership of accountability, inclusivity, selflessness and consultation in the community. He Equally urged the stakeholders of the community to encourage and support them in order to discharged the duties entrusted in them.
“Being the foot-soldiers of the society, the youths need every support and encouragement to face the unlimited tasks facing the body, especially in a community of ours where security threats among others have become the cockcrow which wake people early in the morning … both the stakeholders and the youth must have to work in one spirit to savage this community, doing away with personal and group interests, bitterness and rancour, bearing in mind that Inyere is ours and the only community we can call our own, a home that should be most comfortable for us. Our brothers who are far from the community should please think home, not leaving the affairs of the community for only the people at the village. It’s time we put every hand on deck so that our heavy laden will be easily lifted. A new Inyere is possible when we come together with one mind.” Oyota stated.
