The protesters, who were seen matching on the streets of Lafia, were also marched towards the government house Lafia, Thursday, where they were blocked and dispersed.
Some of the protesters were on their way from the Government house, where they had earlier marched to but were prevented from getting close by the security personnel led by the state Police Commissioner Shehu Nadada.
Trouble started when the protesters were matching past the APC secretariat shouting “APC ba ma so” meaning ‘APC we don’t want’ when some party members armed with sticks attacked them.
The attack infuriated protesters between the ages 19 to 22 and they began throwing stones at the officials of the party and ran away.
Some of the unlucky ones who were behind were however apprehended by some members of NAYES, who later handed them to the security personnel who had received an emergency call and rushed to the area.
In the meantime, thousands of protesters have blocked the Keffi-Abuja highway preventing motorists from travelling into Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Keffi.
