Expert seeks collaboration with Nasarawa LG chairmen in tackling waste disposal

The Director General of the Nasarawa State Waste Management and Sanitation Authority, Mr. Abubakar Aliyyu Mandaki, has stressed the need to effectively collaborate with LGAs chairmen and other stakeholders in the management of waste to achieve healthy living.

Mr. Mandaki stated this on Thursday in Keffi when he interacted with his people during Sallah celebration in his country home.

He said the board under his watch has witnessed rapid improvement in the management and disposal of waste which has enhanced the health status of the people of the state.

The DG commended the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engineer Abdullahi Sule for paying close attention to the needs and demands of the agency.

He also expressed satisfaction with the cooperation received from the state deputy governor, the Secretary to the State Government and the Head of Service for their sustained assistance and thanked local government Chairmen of Karu, Keffi and Kokona for their collaboration.

The Director General noted that his agency is currently building waste collection points in Mararaba, Masaka and Auta Balefi and thanked the Governor for the provision of new trucks and pay loaders which has enhanced their operation.

He also commended the governor for regular provision of funds for payment of salaries of casual staff of the agency.

He further, used the occasion to celebrate with the Muslim faithful in the area on the occasion of this year’s Eid-Kabir celebration.

He equally felicitated the President of the Federal republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinibu and the Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, for the feat achieved in the area of relative peace so far being witnessed in the country and urged them to keep up the momentum.
