The Police Command in Ogun State has arrested a 54-year old man, Chizoke Obiadada and his 17-year old son, Micheal Obiadada for allegedly beating their neighbour’s wife to death.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday via the command’s X (formerly Twitter) handle @OgunPoliceNG.

SP Odutola said: “Successive uncontrollable anger and arguments which snowballed into a quarrel , over sitting on a“worktable“ belonging to one Tope Owoade “f” now deceased. A table the victim uses in selling “Pomo” stemmed an altercation for preventing her neighbours from sitting on her work table causing a misunderstanding that has led to the ultimately death of one Tope Owoade “f” 43yrs.

“The Divisional Police Officer of OGIJO has received a complaint from one Isiaka Owoade “m” a husband of one Tope Owoade now deceased.

“He narrated that on the 29th of March , 2024 when he returned from a journey his late wife informed him that on the previous day which was the 28th of March, 2024 at about 2030hrs one Chizoke Obiadada “m”54 years and his son one Micheal Obiadada “m” 17 years, his known neighbours hacked his wife in fits blows, beating her up mercilessly, by inflicting fatal injuries on his wife which resulted in her bleeding severely from the womb and in her private part.

“When she cautioned the duo not to sit on the work table she uses in selling edible animal skin.

“He stated that his wife was rushed to Main Frame private hospital and Kunle hospital Atan Agowa, and she was rejected.

“He further stated that his wife gave up the ghost while she was being taken to a government hospital.

“Immediately the case was reported, the Divisional Police Officer arrested the culprits and are currently undergoing preliminary investigations.

The police spokesperson, however, said the case will be transferred to the State criminal investigation department for discreet investigation.

She added that effort is ongoing to deposit the deceased in OOUTH Sagamu morgue for post mortem examination.
