Fish out criminals elements in C/River – Otu tasks new commissioner, service chiefs

Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu has warned criminals elements in the state to stay clear or face the full weight of the law.

 

Governor Otu gave the warning on Wednesday in Calabar, while swearing in 31 new commissioners at the governor’s lodge.

 

The brief ceremony amidst torrential downpour was performed by the Secretary to the Cross River State Government, Professor Anthony Owan Enoh.

 

“I am particularly concerned about the spade of kidnapping in the state despite Anti -Kidnapping law in the state which was assented to by Governor Ben Ayade”, he said.

 

Prof. Enoh said the governor has directed all security chiefs to employ all resources within their disposal to dislodged the criminals elements in the state.

 

According to him, the high incident of kidnapping must not be tolerated, we must bring back the Cross River State to its green and peaceful state.

 

“Cross River State must be brought back to life despite the huge burden of debt. Just a few days ago we lifted the embargo on anti-deforestation, We must imbibed the culture of planting a minimum of 3 million trees.

 

Earlier, The 31 commissioners, who took their oaths of allegiance and that of office  included – Mr. Mike Odere – Bekwarra, Ministry of International Donor Coordination, Dr Hippolatus Ogar Lukpata – Yala Ministry of Health , Dr Egbe Ayuk ~ Btung Ministry of Justice , Barr. Ededem Ani – Odukpani Ministry of Local Government Affairs , Chief Felix Idem – Calabar Municipality Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions.

 

Others are Hon Lawrencia Ita – Bakassi Ministry of Special Duties and intergovernmental Relations – Mr. Oden Ewa – Yakurr Ministry of Works and Infrastructure – Hon. Ankpo Pius – Akamkpa Ministry of Aviation – Capt !mah Eno Utum – Yakurr Minstry of Power and Renewable Energy – Prince Eka Walkams – Ikom Ministry of Transportation – Pastor | Ekpeyong Cobham – Calabar South Ministry of Environment – Hon. Moses Osog – Abi, Ministry of Mineral Resources.
