A humanitarian and Non Governmental Organization, Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development has trained 40 early/forced marriage victims and mothers of invisible children affected by the over decade of insurgency in Borno state on various skills acquisition for a period of one month.
The Foundation also supported each of the 40 participants with cash of N35,000 each to enable them start up the various skills they were trained on in order to make themselves self-reliant and useful to their families.
The Director of the foundation, Hajiya Hamsatu Allamin in her remarks at the end of training programme on Thursday in Maidugiri, appreciated the efforts of the organizer and facilitators of the programmes .

The Director, who was represented by The Administration Manager of the foundation, Mohammed Laminu, recognized the contributions and encouragements accorded the beneficiaries who were selected from the large number of registered victims and children already profiled
The Manager further noted that the programme was initiated by the foundation to purposely cushion the hardships of the victims and children as well as give them relief from the trauma they have experienced during captivity.
While the Coordinator of the programme, Malam Mohammed disclosed that the training programme was in three categories with each facilitator handling particular aspect of the training programme.
He said the participants were trained on cosmetology which include – liquid soap making, air freshener, pomade, Izal, dettol etc.
They were also trained on trauma management and were given psychosocial counselling, how to build their self confidence, self esteem as well as religious tolerance and peace.
