Global Village Healthcare Initiative (GHIV) in Africa, a humanitarian organization operating in Borno and Yobe States on nutrition, education, gender, persons with disabilities, children, free training on Humanitarian services, women and girls at the grassroots level has celebrated its 10 years of activities on Saturday at R & B Resorts banquet hall in Maiduguri.
The Board Chairman of GHIV Africa, Chief Chief Alan D. Schwartz highlighted briefly the history of the organizations activities and achievements made so far and promised more in future with the support and collaboration of the people , communities and partners
The Coordinator of GHIV Africa, Dr. Jude Shagba in his address said Global Village Healthcare Initiative for Africa, (GHIV Africa), is a non-governmental, non-for-profit organization and was founded by Shagba Jude Aondowase when he was a Postgraduate student in the Department of Epidemiology and Community Health abroad.
He added that GHIV Africa has board members with Chairman, Chief Emeritus and Co-Founder. Alan D. Schwartz as Chairman of the Board & Chairman of the Executives.
According to him, GHIV Africa been rendering numerous humanitarian services to humanity since 2013 including free training of youths both males and females in Humanitarian services and collaborated with other development partners in various communities in the two states which informed its celebration of its impact and achievements.
He called on interested persons to join the programme towards promoting and improving healthcare and other humanitarian services in the overall interest and welfare of the people and communities , particularly, at the rural level while pledging more progress and development in the nearest future for the sake of humanity.
He also thanked collaborating partners , staff and donor agencies for their support and cooperation while appealing for more synergy and collaboration in conflict areas at a sustainable level.
According to him, the support and cooperation of all stakeholders can never be over emphasized as efforts are being made to upgrade its facilities and services in all it’s catchment areas and train more trainees on humanitarian activities.
Goodwill messages and commendations from community leaders, government stakeholders , development partners (NGOs and CBOs), women, children, youths, children and persons living with disabilities among others were received .
Highlights of the event include: the presentations of PowerPoint on the achievements recorded, gifts, dinner and group photographs as well as questions and answers from staff among others.
