
GOC 7 Division, Nigerian Army, Brig. Gen. Ugochukwu Unachukwu, , addressing military troops in Borno

In a display of sterling leadership style to motivate his troops for optimal performances, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division Nigerian Army and Commander, Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Brig. Gen. Ugochukwu Unachukwu, has visited frontline troops of 21 Special Armoured Brigade Bama and 26 Task Force Brigade.
The visit on Wednesday, which is the GOC’s routine to stir the warriors spirits among troops of Sector 1 OPHK remains a moral booster as troops continue to display professionalism .
Brigadier General Unachukwu also charged troops to be focus and be ready to decisively deal with the terrorists in North East region while while discharging their constitutional mandate in the defence of Nigeria.

The GOC, further, directed troops to continue to dominate their areas of responsibilities to deny terrorists freedom of action and deter them from causing havoc to the good people of Borno State in order to create a conducive atmosphere for economic activities to thrive in North East region.
“I implore you to exhibit high level of professionalism, discipline and decorum during operations in line with best practices”, the GOC was quoted as saying in a statement issued on Thursday by the Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations, 7 Division Nigerian Army, Lt. Col. Haruna Sani
He further reassured them of improved logistical support and provision of essential combat enablers to facilitate efficiency in the ongoing counter insurgency operation. Brigadier General Unachukwu emphasized the need for continued resilience while assuring troops that their sacrifices were acknowledged and appreciated by the military leadership and the nation at large.
Troops’ locations visited included 21 Special Armoured Brigade Bama, Alo Dam, 222 Battalion Konduga, 151 Bn Banki Junction, 192 Battalion Pulka and 153 Battalion Kerawa under 24 Task Force Brigade Gwoza.
Highlights of the visits were interactions with field commanders, strategic guidance, inspection of locations visited as well as addressing the needed logistics requirements that are prerequisite to operational efficiency.
