
Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas

Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas has inaugurated a taskforce committee on total banned of the use of motorcycle and tricycle in Jalingo, the state capital.
In an emergency security meeting with the security agencies in the Government House Jalingo, the governor, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Alh. Abdullahi Aminu Alkali, stressed that the committee comprises of various security agencies in the state and headed by commissioner of Police.
Other members of the committee are, the Federal Road Safety Corp, (FRSC) National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) as well as Taraba Marshall.
Also the Taskforce on total ban of motorcycle committee include, Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Taraba State chapter, and Secretary HASS, SSG Office respectively.
The committee are to swing into action on 22nd January, 2024, to ensure that the use of motorcycle is completely banned, while the operation of tricycle is restricted between six, (6) pm and eight (8) pm.
The terms of reference of the instituted committee, further, stressed that any defaulter should be arrested and tried by the Mobile Court and the motorcycle, tricycle will be confiscated and destroyed.
The governor explained that the action taking is as a result of the current criminal activities in the state capital.
