Gov. Ortom pays glowing tributes to late Tunde Mark (photos)

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has paid glowing tributes to Tunde Jonathan Mark, son of former Senate President, David Mark who was buried Friday, November 11th, 2022.

Governor Ortom who joined other political and religious leaders across the country spoke during the requeim Mass at the private residence of Senator Mark in Otukpo.

He described Tunde as a great man and a bridge builder, and recalled how he supported his father to excel as Senate President and at the same time paved the way for people to see his father even without appointment.

Governor Ortom consoled Mark’s family over the passage of Tunde and particularly prayed God to give his wife and daughter the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

The State Deputy Governor, Engr. Benson Abounu who spoke as a native of Otukpo said the late Tunde Mark related well with all, irrespective of their class, saying he was a man with a pure heart and an uncommon humility.

Abounu enjoined the family to take heart and accept the demise of Tunde as according to him “God who brought him on earth knows why he had to take him away at this time.”

Senator representing Benue South, Patrick Aba Moro in his tribute said the people, especially those in Benue were pained that a young, vibrant and an upcoming leader has been taken away from them so early.

Senator Moro however stated that the impactful life that the late Tunde lived has ensured that he would always be in the minds and hearts of people and enjoined the family to rejoice that he positively touched the lives of people.

The State Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Reverend Akpen Leva who was represented by the Benue South Chairman of the Association said the entire members of the association share in the grieve of Senator Mark’s family and prayed that God would comfort them all.

Senator Mark whose tribute was read by one of his son’s, David Mark Junior, described Tunde as a unifier, a connector and a glue that bonded the family together as well as a bridge between his brothers and sisters.

He said the family would uphold the late Tunde’s most cherished values of respect, kindness, generosity and love.

The Governor was earlier received in Otukpo by the Deputy Governorship candidate of the PDP, Sir John Ngbede, Commissioners and Chairman of the local government, Bako Eje as well as other party leaders from the local government.
