Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has condemned in totality the skirmishes that happened during the recent APC state wide campaign in Toto, Keana and Lafia.
Gov Sule, condemned the act in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Monday.
The governor, who apologised to the personality caught up during the squabbles, called on youths and all APC supporters to maintain decorum and respect for law and order.
He said: “I must however condemn in strong terms the squabbles amongst and between party supporters in Toto, Keana as well as the Emir’s Palace in Lafia where disaffection and misconduct reared its ugly head attributable to the fall out of the APC primaries”
“I apologize to those party faithfuls who the unsavory comments, chants and aggression borne out of youthful exuberance were targeted at. These attacks are indeed regrettable. We are carrying out full investigations in order to stop such unfortunate incidents”
“It is pertinent to reiterate my earlier calls on our youths and supporters to maintain the decorum, respect for laws and constituted authority that our party stands and is known for” he said.
Gov Sule, who said APC is one big family and whoever emerges as the candidate of the party remains so, assured that the party will all work for the success of such candidates.
The governor who warned against law breaking, said “We can not be seen to be law breakers when we have been preaching conformity with the law at all times”
“I am confident that all contending issues will and should be resolved peacefully, at the end of which will emerge a vibrant, cohesive and more United APC” he said.
Meanwhile, the governor in the same statement, thanked the people of the state, saying they have spoken by their massive turn out during the campaign.
“I, Engr Abdullahi A. Sule on behalf of the Asiwaju/Shettima & A A Sule/Akabe campaign council in the state, the State Working Committee of the party and our leaders at all levels wish to express profound gratitude to the entire leadership/members of the APC, the good people of Nasarawa state and our teeming supporters for the outstanding show of love and support during the first phase of our campaign rallies to the 13 Local Government Headquarters”
“The massive turnout of men, women and especially the youth as witnessed at all the venues is indicative of the strength, love and acceptance of the APC in our dear state”
“The speeches extolling our numerous achievements as an administration, the suggestions and the promise of votes during the forthcoming elections serve as encouragement and added impetus for us to do more for the benefit of our people”
The governor also commended the exemplary unity of purpose exhibited by APC members, saying that they will continue to see such among all strata of leadership and elders of the party.
“We thank you for the assurance of votes for our Presidential Candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and another mandate of four years to be secured through the ballots for the governor and indeed all candidates of the APC at all levels”
“In all, the campaign tour was a huge success and an eloquent testimony of the confidence of the people of the state in the APC and its candidates”
“I am especially grateful to Allah for a peaceful outing devoid of any reported case of accidents, destruction or loss”.
“We remain very grateful to all our leaders and supporters who spared their time to go everywhere with us”.
“We are grateful to our Royal Fathers, religious leaders and our dear ED/CEO NPHDC, Dr Faisal Shuaib and his family/friends for the new innovation during our tour. We remain indebted” the statement reads.
