Governor Alia condemns attack on Benue lawmaker’s residence, places N10m bounty for informant

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has condemned in its entirety the Saturday’s attack on the private residence of the member of the House of Representatives for Katsina-Ala/Ukum/Logo Federal Constituency, Solomon Wombo, where his housekeeper was mercilessly brutalized, leaving him in a pool of blood and with various degrees of injuries.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Tersoo Kula said the Governor who was visibly angry, emphasized that his administration would not watch criminals terrorize innocent people in the state.

He promised that his government would do everything in its power to ensure the suspects were arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.

The Benue State Government, the statement also said would offer 10 million naira to anyone that would give useful information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects.

Governor Alia charged security agencies to work tirelessly to locate the suspects and bring them to face the full force of the law, while also ensuring greater security and safety for all citizens of the state.

In the meantime, the State Governor has urged the good people of the state to remain calm, assuring that his administration would not rest on its oars until the state is made free of every form of criminality.

It could be recalled that in the late hours of last Saturday, some armed men invaded the residence of the National Assembly member, Wombo, and desperately demanded to know his whereabouts.

The attackers also insisted that the main flat of the house must be opened for them to search.
