Niger State Governor, Umar Bago
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Hajiya Rahmatu Awwal Ibrahim, wife of the Emir of Zazzau Suleja, Alhaji Muhammadu Awwal Ibrahim.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor conveyed heartfelt condolences to the Emir and the entire Suleja Emirate, describing the loss as deeply painful.
Bago hailed the late Hajiya Rahmatu as “a great woman and a mother figure to many who came in contact with her,” noting that her death leaves a void not just in the Emir’s household but across the wider Suleja community and beyond.
He urged the Emir, members of the Emirate Council and residents to take solace in the exemplary life she lived, the values she upheld, and the lasting memories she created.
The governor prayed for Allah’s mercy upon her soul, asking the Almighty to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljanah Firdausi.
He also prayed for strength and comfort for the Emir, his family, and the people of the Emirate as they mourn their loss.
