By BARBARA KALU, Asaba –
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has sanctioned the suspension of the Rector and Bursar of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, for a period of six months.
The decision was announced in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Emu.
According to Dr. Emu, the governor also endorsed the earlier suspension of the institution’s Registrar, as recommended by the Polytechnic’s Governing Council.
The statement noted that the action was taken “to enable a comprehensive and impartial investigation into allegations of administrative misconduct and financial infractions raised against them by the governing council.”
In the interim, Governor Oborevwori directed that the Deputy Rector assume the role of Acting Rector, while the most senior accountant in the Bursary Department will step in as Acting Bursar during the suspension period.
