Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has called on the presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), during the 2023 general elections, Mr Peter Obi, to support President Bola Ahmed Bola Tinubu, to move the country forward.

Governor Sule, made the call when Peter Obi, paid him a courtesy call at Government House, Lafia, on Monday.

The governor, who thanked Peter Obi, for the visit, said he has the experience, competences and capacity to support President Tinubu, even without letting the world know about it, to move the country forward.

“I want to sincerely thank you also for making the straight statement about the fact that there is time for politics and there is time for governance. While thanking you for your kind words, I will also call on you sir, because I know you have the experience and you also have the competences and the capacity to support Mr President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in order for us to be on the same page”.

“So sir, I am calling on you to have the opportunity always to share; he’s your friend, he’s your colleague, we were all in Lagos together and I am sure, you will be able to contribute your own quota, even without the rest of the world know what your are contributing”

“The country’s challenges cannot be resolved by only one person anywhere and I am sure you have contributions to make like you are making in Nasarawa State, by drilling boreholes and contributing for the period of fasting”

“I call on you sir and I plead with you to join with others who have high respect for you to come together and assist Mr President, because I fully believe Mr President, mean well for Nigeria, but he alone cannot do it, he needs the support from anywhere that he can get in order for us to get to our destination and by the grace of God, we will get there together” Gov Sule, said.

Gov Sule, also told Mr Obi, that President Tinubu, had already directed all state governors and his political appointees to do everything possible to cushion the effect of hardships faced by Nigerians.

Earlier, Mr Peter Obi, told the governor, that he was in Government House Lafia, on a solidarity visit and to let him know that he has embarked on some boreholes project and sharing of Ramadan fasting materials to Nigerians.

Peter Obi, who told the governor that politics is not always about negativity, gave the governor a pat on the back for embarking on road projects that have direct bearing on the people of the state.

He pointed out that the campaigns and politics are gone, saying he is not too “desperate to be the president of Nigeria, rather I am desperate to see Nigeria work”.

“Your Excellency, I am here to pay a courtesy call and solidarity visit to you and another reason is that, at this Ramadan fasting period, I have started a nation wide project of touring the various parts of Nigeria and support in my little way in the fasting processes” Obi said.
