The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Governorship Candidate in Kano, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, has expressed confidence of winning the governorship election in the state .

Abba spoke to newsmen shortly after casting his vote at Balarabe Haladu ward, 003 polling unit in Gwale Local Government Area.

He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for early provision of materials in the ongoing election in the state.

He also commended residents for coming out en-masse to exercise their civil rights.

He also lauded the security agencies for providing required security in polling units across the local government area which paved the way for the smooth implementation of electoral process so far.

The NNPP governorship candidate called on the Nigeria Police to arrest an APC top notcher for allegedly mobilizing thugs to disrupt the ongoing election in Gwale Local Government Area.

Meanwhile, the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Kano, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, while casting his vote at Gawuna Polling Unit, commended the efforts of INEC officials for providing voting materials promptly.

Dr Nasir Gawuna said with the security architecture on ground, there was a tendency of having hitch-free elections.

NAN reports that most of the BVAS machines worked effectively and the accreditation was conducted peacefully.

Gawuna, Deputy Governor of the state, called on residents to cooperate with the INEC and security agencies to ensure credible election in the state.( NAN)
