The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has presented certificates of return to Nasarawa State Governor, Engr Abdullahi Sule, his Deputy Dr Emmanuel Akabe and the Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi as well as other members-elect for the State Assembly.
The event took place at INEC Headquarters Lafia, as conducted by the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Abdul-rahman Othman Ajidagba and was supervised by Muhammed Kudu Haruna, INEC Commissioner in charge of North Central.

Gov. Abdullahi Sule, in his speech expressed happiness for the unique day which he described as double celebration for him and the State at large coming a day after Federal Government commenced oil drilling in the State.
“It is two happy moments for us in the State, the presentation of certificates of return and commencement of oil drilling”
“It is a very common thing for us in Nigeria, winners will always celebrate and losers will always accused the winner, it is common in Nigeria politics” Gov. Sule said.
Recall that INEC declared Gov Abdullahi Sule, of APC, as the winner of Saturday 18th March 2023 election in Nasarawa state.
Gov Sule, got a total of 347,209 votes to defeat his closest opponent David Ombugadu, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got 283,016 votes.
Meanwhile, the Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly, who led other members to the event, said the legislative arm of government is committed in promulgating laws that will ginger development base on the yearnings and peculiarities of the state.

One after the other, state parliamentarians received what could be tagged as “Symbol of Authority” with huge expectations from the people of Nasarawa State as affirmed by the Speaker of the House Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi.
The speaker who is returning to the hallowed chamber for the third time, said the state legislative arm of government is committed in legislating on issues that have direct bearing on the lives of the people.
In an interview, a first timer, Hon. John Ali Dizaho who is to represent Karu/Gitata constituency, said the next assembly should be research driven to conform with modern reality.
In all, the ruling All Progressives Congress APC produced 11 members in the just concluded polls, leaving People’s Democratic Party PDP with 8 while SDP settled for three leaving NNPP at the bottom with two members.
