U.S President Donald Trump
Iran has indirectly threatened U.S. President Donald Trump with death after he called Iranian leader Ali Khamenei an “easy target”.
Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, a prominent cleric, stated that threats against Khamenei or other Islamic leaders are punishable by death under Islam.
*Punishable by Death

According to Makarem Shirazi, “Individuals or regimes that attack an Islamic government or threaten or act against its religious leaders are considered ‘Mohareb’,” meaning enemies of God or warriors against God.
He emphasized that it’s the duty of Muslims to hold these “enemies” accountable.
This development comes after Trump said, “We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now,” in comments to reporters. Makarem Shirazi didn’t mention Trump by name but explained Islamic principles that regard those who punish enemies of Islamic states and leaders as holy warriors, assured of God’s blessing.
*Escalating Tensions*
Tensions between the U.S. and Iran have been running high, especially after the 2020 U.S. drone strike that killed Qassem Soleimani, a top Iranian general. Recently, U.S. authorities foiled an Iranian-linked plot to assassinate Trump before the 2024 election.
