The Nigerian Army Officers Wife Association (NAOWA), Headquarter 7 Division Chapter North East Operation HADIN KAI, has organised a lecture to sensitize women on gender equality and inclusive participation in innovative digital opportunities.
The lecture was part of its activities to commemorate the 2023 International Women’s Day (IWD) Celebration, which was held at 7 Division NAOWA Secretariat Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri Borno State on Thursday.
The guest speaker, Commander 7 Division Education, Lieutenant Colonel SA Awe, said the theme for this year’s celebration – DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality, is apt considering the significant contributions of women in the country.

Col. Awe stated that women have made untold contributions and giant strides to the digital world in which we increasingly live.
He said that gender analysis of the use of technology revealed a historically unequal power relationship between women and men, which they have to improve upon at all times in closing the gab between both sexes.

He further stated that the need for all women to participate in all fields is key to the growth and development of our dear nation, without which the society will not be balanced.
