Beneficiaries of the free medical outreach in Maiduguri
By SADIQ ABUBAKAR, Maiduguri –
In a bid to provide much-needed medical care to communities affected by the insurgency in the North East, the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, in collaboration with troops of Operation Hadin Kai, has conducted a 2-day medical outreach program in Maiduguri.
The outreach, which took place at Immaculate Secondary School along Baga Road, provided free medical tests and treatment to hundreds of residents from various communities, including Bolori, Baga road, Ummarari, Jajeri, and Kuwait.

The CDS, who was represented by the Chief of Defence Civil-Military Relations, Rear Admiral Olusanya Bankole, commended the Theatre Commander North East ‘Operation Hadin Kai’, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, and his troops for their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
Bankole emphasized that the medical outreach is part of the Nigerian military’s social responsibility to neighboring communities near barracks and beyond.
The medical outreach is a culmination of the 4-day Human Security and Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Workshop, which brought together various security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, Airforce, Navy, Police, Department of State Service, and Nigeria Civil Defence Corps, as well as partners like the Al-Amin Foundation.
The workshop aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to develop peace-building programs in conflict-affected areas.
Hundreds of community members turned out for the medical outreach, expressing gratitude to the CDS, the Theatre Commander North East OPHK, and troops for their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
The medical outreach provided much-needed medical care, including tests and treatment, to residents who have been affected by the insurgency.
The community members appreciated the military’s efforts in organizing the medical outreach, which they said will improve their well-being in the society.
Bankole assured the community members that the CDS has directed that everything possible be done to attend to the crowd and ensure their well-being.
The medical outreach is a significant step towards restoring normalcy to Borno and the North East.
The CDS’s commitment to humanitarian service demonstrates the military’s dedication to the well-being of the people they are sworn to protect.
The community members were urged to continue giving their support to the military and their families as they work to restore normalcy to the region. The medical outreach is a testament to the military’s commitment to the people and their well-being.
