My administration has brought developmental strides to Nasarawa – Gov. Sule

Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdulahi Sule says his administration has taken deliberate steps to bring rapid transformation to the state considering the back ward nature of the young growing state.

Governor Sule stated this on Tuesday at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi where he presented a Public Lecture titled”” BARAYANOMICS: Economic Planning Imperatives for the Sustainability of States in Nigeria: The Nasarawa State Model”

Engr. Sule noted that when he assumed office as the governor, the state has a low poverty level as it was called a civil service state.

According to him, two and a half years into his administration, he has been able to turn the state from a civil service state to a high industrial hub by setting up industries and stepping up budgetary allocation up to thirty percent for education bearing in mind that a literate community is a developed society.

He added that his administration has given serious attention to security, which has made Nasarawa State to be one of the most peaceful state in the country.

Engineer Sule disclosed that apart from construction of roads, his administration has constructed a model Liason office for the state in Abuja that is turning in huge revenue for the state.

The governor, further said the state has moved from the downward position of seven percent to sixteen percent on the pedestal of the country rating and urged all to team up with him to make the state one of the top ten developed state in the country.

In his welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi Professor Suleiman Bala Muhammed commended the governor for his interest shown in the university by providing funds for its operations.

The VC appealed to the governor to take over the payment of staff salaries to avert the impending strike by the academic staff of the university

In his remarks, the Emir of Keffi, His Royal Highness, Shehu Chindo Yamusa who is the Chancellor of the university, urged the governor to make the Public Lecture an annual event to showcase his achievements and enlighten the people on the giant strides of his administration
