NCDMB distributes starter packs, N125,000 to 1000 youths in C/River

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) on Monday distributed starter packs, laptops , shops and one hundred and twenty five thousand naira each to 1000 youths from Cross River Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State.

The beneficiaries, who were trained on GSM phone’s repairs, hardware, and entrepreneurship Development were drawn from the seven LGAs of Cross River South.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony at Marry Ekpeiken Conference Centre, Channel Hotel Calabar, the facilitator of the programme, Legor Idagbor , who was also a member representing Bekwara / Obudu/ Obanliku Federal Constituency commended the Board of NCDMB for what he called a wonderful initiatives.

The lawmaker disclosed that the programme is not political but for the benefits of all the people of Cross River State, having also empowered his constituency in Northern Cross River and Central Senatorial District of the state.

Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the NCDMB, Engineer Simbi Kesiye Wabote said the training program has been carried out in six state including Cross River State twice, Kano, Kaduna, Yobe, Bauchi, and will be carried out in Bayelsa soon.

He commended the Chairman of the House Committee of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) for bringing the programme to fruition.

The Executive Secretary further said Governor Ben Ayade led administration has promised three years tax exemption for all the trainees and other incentives .

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Professor Florence Obi in her remarks, commended the Board of NCDMB for supporting Cross River youths in ICT development and hardware.
