The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has awarded foreign postgraduate scholarships to 200 successful candidates under its 2025 scholarship program.
The Director, Corporate Affairs, Mrs. Seledi Thompson-Wakama, announced that the Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, presented the award letters to the beneficiaries at a ceremony in Port Harcourt.
Dr. Ogbuku commended the panelists for their dedication and impartiality in the selection process, saying, “I commend our panelists for their dedication and impartiality in raising the bar.
“This has ensured that only the most qualified candidates got selected.”
He also urged the beneficiaries to maintain a high standard of conduct, advising them to “steer clear of criminal activities or any conduct that can bring disrepute to the country.”
The selection process was rigorous and transparent, with 30,000 candidates applying for the scholarship scheme and 6,000 qualifying through the computer-based test stage.
The 200 beneficiaries were successful in both the computer-based test and oral interview, demonstrating their exceptional academic abilities.
By providing these scholarships, NDDC aims to empower the next generation of leaders and promote development in the Niger Delta region.
