The Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development in Maiduguri recently organized a one-day workshop on Spiritual and Peace Education for Women Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs).
The workshop, part of the “#SheBuildsPeace” initiative, aimed to promote peace and unity among religious faithfuls in Borno State, particularly among women.
Executive Director of the foundation, Hajiya Hamsatu Allamin, emphasized the importance of peace education in building harmonious relationships.

“The workshop is targeted at exposing participants to the fundamentals and principles of spiritual and religious peace in society for better and improved peaceful coexistence among people of all races, religious faiths, and tribes,” she said.
The facilitator, Dr. Muhammad Abdallahi, highlighted the multidimensional nature of peace and its significance in various religious traditions.
“All faiths emphasize commitment, devotion, and dedication to respective religions and worship,” he noted.
Dr. Abdallahi also discussed the importance of morality, discipline, resilience, patience, love, trust, honesty, and accountability in promoting peace.
The workshop covered topics such as: Understanding the multidimensional nature of peace; religious teachings on peace in Islam and Christianity; personal and spiritual fundamentals for peace and the role of faith-based organizations in promoting peace and unity
The participants were urged to apply the knowledge gained from the workshop to foster love, peace, and unity in their communities.
By promoting peace education and interfaith dialogue, ALFOPED aims to contribute to sustainable peace and development in Borno State.
