The National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Cross River State directorate has urged youths and women to register for the 93,731 employment programmes for unskilled and unemployed persons across Nigeria.
The state coordinator, Gabriel Udam gave the advice on Monday during a press briefing in Calabar the state capital.
Udam said that the programme was under the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative of the federal government in which the directorate would provide vocational, agricultural and entrepreneurial skills training .
He noted that there would be a complementing transient job opportunities in the public works sector using over 30 different skill sets.
“This job creation initiative of the NDE finds effective expression in six out of the eight priority areas of the Renewed Hope Agenda. ” Start-up capital, equipment and working tools will be provided”, he said.
