The newly deployed Permanent Secretary, Police Service Commission (PSC), Mr William Alo, has pledged to reinvigorate the Nigeria Police to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
In a statement issued by the Head of Press and Public Relations of PSC, Mr Ikechukwu Ani, said Alo, made the pledge at an event to mark his assumption of duty at PSC.
Alo took over from Mr Abubakar Ismaila, who had been redeployed to the Federal Ministry of Sports and Youth Development.
The new Permanent Secretary, deployed from the Federal Ministry of Power said the focus of the reinvigoration of the Nigeria Police would be in the area of appointment, promotion and discipline.
Alo told the management staff of the Commission that his administration would focus on strategies that would move PSC forward.
“We need to do something different to make the police truly our friend and also give Nigerians a sense of security especially in this troubled times,” he said.
He pledged to ensure that management and staff of the Commission work as a team, adding that, his administration would also focus on staff welfare for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
Earlier, Ismaila called on the Staff and Management of the Commission to extend the support and cooperation given to him to his successor.
