The National Health Council (NHC) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, and other stakeholders for their immense support in promoting health in Nigeria.
In a communique issued at the end of the 65th NHC Meeting in Maiduguri on Thursday, the council expressed gratitude to the Borno State Government for their assistance in hosting the event.
The communique which was signed by the Council Chairman, who is also the Coordinating Minister for Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammadu Ali Pate and presented by the Permanent Secretary , FMOH, Mrs. Dani Kachollom, appreciated the support and cooperation of various organizers, health stakeholders, development partners, and health organizations, both within and outside Nigeria, for their contributions towards achieving universal health coverage by 2030.

Additionally, the council launched four different health documents for implementation towards standardizing healthcare delivery and improving digital health facilities technology to met international standards and quality.
The communique stated that there were three speakers and 18 memoranda and 36 state commissioners with over 1500 membership while the policy documents launched by the Coordinating Minister for Health and Chairman of Council, Professor Ali Pate include: National Policy on Health Workforce Migration, 2024; Nigeria Health Workforce Profile, 2022; National Social and Behaviour Change Strategy for Nutrition across the Lifecycle in Nigeria; and the Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent, and Elderly Health (RMNCAEH+N) Strategy, its Implementation Guide and other policy documents.
The communique further added that there were number of resolutions reached during the technical session aimed towards improving and promoting health care services to every Nigerian as a catalysts for universal health development in making health accessible to Nigerians in both the rural and urban areas.
Finally, the council in session also unanimously endorsed Cross River State to host the next 66th NHC Meeting in Calabar.
