Passing Out Parade of the 88 Regular Recruits Intake
The Nigerian Army is set to inject 6,195 fresh regular combatants into its fold to enhance strength and operational readiness in the battle against terrorists, bandits, and other criminals in the country.
These new recruits are members of the 88 Regular Recruit Intake (88RRI) who completed six months of rigorous military training at the Depot Nigerian Army in Zaria.
A total of 6,450 candidates commenced the training in January, but 255 were unable to complete it.
The training was designed to equip the recruits with the necessary skills and knowledge to tackle the security challenges facing the nation.
The fresh combatants will be deployed to various theaters of operation across the country to combat existential threats.
They will undergo specialized training to prepare them for their roles and responsibilities in areas such as counterinsurgency, counterterrorism, and peacekeeping.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, will be the reviewing officer at the passing-out parade of the new regular combatants.
The COAS expects these new recruits to boost the manpower needs of the army and enhance its operational readiness.
