Late former President Muhammadu Buhari
Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ogun Chapter, has called on government officials to emulate the late former President Muhammadu Buhari’s governance style, which emphasized equal rights and access to resources for all.
According to Ademola Hameed-Benco, Chairman of the NLC Ogun Chapter, “Buhari’s system of governance, regardless of social standing, wealth, gender, race, religion, or other characteristics, would tackle bribery, corruption, and other vices.”
Hameed-Benco praised Buhari, saying, “He was a dedicated leader who transformed the lives of many Nigerians.”
He highlighted Buhari’s achievements, including approving the payment of outstanding accrued pension rights for treasury-funded MDAs retirees and settling death benefits claims for deceased employees’ beneficiaries.
The NLC Ogun Chapter’s call comes as the nation mourns Buhari’s passing. President Bola Tinubu had earlier declared a seven-day national mourning period to pay tribute to Buhari’s life and legacy.
