New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Katsina State has firmly denied reports that its chairmen across the state’s 34 local government areas have defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) or any other political party.
In a statement released on Monday in Katsina, the NNPP State Chairman, Alhaji Armaya’u Abdulkadir, clarified the party’s position.
“We categorically state that none of our local government chairmen have left the NNPP for any other party in Katsina State,” he asserted.
Abdulkadir addressed recent media reports and social media posts alleging that the 34 NNPP local government chairmen had switched allegiance to the ADC, reportedly through the influence of Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa, a former Secretary to the Katsina State Government.
He debunked these claims, explaining, “While it is true that some individuals who were previously with the NNPP defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after the 2023 presidential elections, those same individuals later moved to the ADC from the APC, not from the NNPP.”
The NNPP chairman urged the public to disregard the misleading reports, reaffirming the party’s unity and commitment in Katsina State.
