Sokoto State Coordinator of NDE, Malam Abdulkarim Sirika presenting keynote address on behalf of the DG of NDE

Sokoto State Coordinator of National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Abdulkarim Sirika has submitted that no nation makes the needed progress with education alone.
He stated this on Wednesday while delivering keynote address on behalf of NDE Director General, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fipko at the flag off and orientation ceremony of Environment Beautification Training Scheme (EBTS) for 20 participants.
The co-ordinator urged the participants to think like Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa or the richest man in Sokoto, who all made their fortune through business and not working for any government.
To the unemployed youths in Nigeria, Sirika said, Government work will take you no where and education is just a guide to making progress, but the actual method of making wealth is skills, entrepreneurship, vocation and self employment.
“”Twenty (20) participants are recruited across the 23 LGAs of the state to be trained for the period of 3 months, engaging in skills such as Interlocking, Flowering and Plaster of Paris (POP) in which they will be given stipend of fifteen thousand naira for the period of three months””.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Head of Special Public Works Department (SPW) Jibril Yunusa said the EBTS was designed to create decent jobs to unemployed school leavers and drop outs through training and development in the landscaping service value chain.
This according to Yunusa therefore means, EBTS promotes environmental renewal in habitats, “particularly town and cities offering aesthetics, protection, sanitation, ornamentation to finishing and employability skills”.
