Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah
Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has reaffirmed his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stating that he has no plans to leave the party.
Mbah made the declaration during an interactive session with members of the Nigeria Guild of Editors (NGE) in Enugu.
“I am still in the PDP, as you can see, the flag behind me is that of the PDP,” he said, pointing to the party’s flag.
The governor acknowledged the challenges facing the PDP, but noted that they were not unique to the party. “It is not peculiar to the party, as other political parties in the country are also facing challenges,” he said.
Mbah emphasized his administration’s focus on governance, saying, “We are in this to serve the people of Enugu State. So, we have focused largely on governance. I believe that at the end of the day, the people would have to decide whether they want to renew our mandate or kick us out.
The governor also revealed that his political rival in the 2023 governorship election, Chijioke Edeoga, had returned to the party to join him in moving Enugu State forward. “So, we’re working closely together, and that has also brought a lot of peace, as we are not spending money dealing with all sorts of political fights,” he said.
