A devastating road crash on the Ome Bridge inbound Awa, Ijebu Ode, Obada Expressway, in Ogun State, has claimed the lives of 10 people, while three others sustained injuries.
The accident involved a Mitsubishi bus with registration number EJ829 LSR.
According to the Ogun State Traffic and Emergency Compliance Agency, the accident was caused by wrong overtaking, which led to the vehicle veering into the bush and plunging into the river.
“The accident was a result of wrong overtaking,” said Babatunde Akinbiyi, the agency’s spokesman.
This tragic incident highlights the need for drivers to exercise caution and follow traffic rules to prevent such accidents.
The agency’s prompt response and rescue efforts helped to mitigate the situation, but the loss of lives is still a significant concern.
