
Late Otunba Bamidele Akingboye
Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, who ran as the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate in the November 16, 2024, Ondo State governorship election, has tragically passed away.
According to a statement issued by his Personal Assistant and Media Adviser, Oyeniyi Iwakun, Akingboye died in the early hours of Wednesday at his home in Victoria Garden City (VGC), Lagos.
Iwakun mourned the loss, describing Akingboye as “a figure of steadfast integrity, a distinguished entrepreneur, a generous philanthropist, and a visionary dedicated to community progress.”
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that Akingboye, who celebrated his 60th birthday in 2024, held the prestigious title of Olowomeye 1 of Ikaleland.
He was the CEO of Benshore Maritime, Clog Oil Systems, and President of WeAfrica Group. Iwakun added that details regarding burial arrangements would be shared in due time. (NAN)
